Our players and cheerleaders are required to maintain a 70% average in order to be eligible for play. At report card from the previous school year will be required at registration.

ACADEMIC PARTNERSHIP PROGRAM 

MSYFL Academic Partnership Program

Mission: To promote the importance of education to our children and provide monitoring and assistance for academic progress in conjunction with our community’s schools.

Overview: All students that are registered to play football or cheerlead with the Manchester Sentinals Y.F.L. will be offered the option to enter the MSYFL academic program.

*MSYFL will establish an advisory/liaison board to coordinate assistance with local educators.

*All Manchester schools will be asked to participate and support the Academic Partnership Plan.

*Players must maintain at least a 70% average in order to participate in MSYFL football and cheerleading.

Goals: Students that sign up for the Academic Partnership Plan will be monitored on academic progress, either thru the school or parents but the MSYFL academic board.

*Any students that are struggling in school will be reminded that their academic success will determine their eligibility to play football/cheer in the fall.

*If students require extra assistance, there will be an attempt to match the student up with a tutor to assist in the areas needed, whether it is academic in nature or just learning good study/note-taking habits and develop discipline with doing homework.

*A master list of volunteer tutors will be generated and MSYFL will work with the students and parents to match them to a tutor.

*It is the desire of the MSYFL that our players excel on and off the field. We strive to develop our youth into successful adults by enforcing good habits, providing positive role models, and teaching life lessons.

*We will also incorporate community service projects into our program as a way to keep players involved with each other and their coaches and develop a teamwork and family mentality.

*There will be numerous fundraisers to support the MSYFL throughout the year and we will attempt to get maximum student involvement to teach the value of effort and hard work.
